Mulenga Chafilwa finds maximum expression through the use of mixed media (Acrylic paint, charcoal, pastels drawing ink, etc).

He trained as an art teacher and taught art at Matero Girls High School in Lusaka for 12 years (1994-2006). “Thereafter after I’ve always struck a balance between art administration and my art practice. I’ve equally been involved in conducting workshops for young and upcoming artists.”

My art practice has always been inspired by my fascination with the human figure element. My work thus sees me extend my immediate interaction and experiences with my environment onto my canvases. I usually capture the energies of the crowded setting, in particular, urban dwellers going on about their daily.
